Media Access Canada, MAC

Media Access Canada is an organization currently being incorporated not-for-profit. Once it receives its not for profit status, it will be looking for board of director candidates, along with subcommittee participants. Please contact MEDIAC INC. if you are interested in supporting Media Access Canada as it sets in motion the following activities:

1. Establish and maintain open/non-proprietary best practices for the production of accessible content
2. Create and implement marketing plan for an accessible Canada that puts Canada in the international arena
3. Participate in technical standards development, and work toward international and national harmonization of accessible production standards through engineering and standards development committees
4. Educate and support consumers with accessibility issues about the analog-to-digital transition, and convergence between broadcasting and telecommunications
5. Receive and respond to accessibility-related complaints
6. Create a professional membership based organization for Closed captioner's and Descriptive Video writers and voicer's
